Spiritual Growth

Scripture imagines life with God as a process of growing in character, maturing in attitude, and flourishing as a community of human beings who are ever-more discovering the existence God dreamed for us.
At Campus View we believe that growth happens as a result of our experience of the life of God. We grow from our understanding and obedience of the ways of Jesus presented in Scripture. We grow from the commitments and intentions we keep with and for each other as a church. We grow from our willingness to open our lives to the Spirit of God through practices like solitude, prayer, fasting, and selfless mission. In all these ways (and more) we find our lives caught up in the purposes of God and the leading of his Spirit. And in that dynamic, the life of God begins to fill our life in increasing measure.
But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love. (Ephesians 4 .15-16)
You were taught to put away your former way of life, your old self, corrupt and deluded by its lusts, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to clothe yourselves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.  (Ephesians 4.22-24)
